Electrifying stories. Electrifyingly told.
The Electric Company Theatre is a collective of artists dedicated to nurturing our craft through the exploration, development and presentation of classic, contemporary, and original texts, providing a forum for community connection, and creating a platform for change through the unique experience of live theatre.
Change. Connect. Craft.

Our Theatre Company
For the last 20 years, our team has been producing high-quality, award-winning theatrical experiences. We have taken shows Off-Broadway, won awards at International Fringe Festivals, produced shows in conjunction with the California Humanities Project, ran a successful Children’s Theater program, and produced countless well-attended theatrical experiences for people of all ages (over 200 productions in the last 17 years). Since our rebranding in 2020, we have created COVID-safe experiences in our community, including digital programming (Cookies with Candy for the Children’s Museum at La Habra and Las Abuelas for the La Habra Tamale Festival). We also created a COVID-safe drive through holiday show, Elfeneezer Scrooge, in which audience members tuned in with their car radios for a live adaption of A Christmas Carol. We partnered with MOXIE Theatre in San Diego for a filmed, fully staged production of Lauren Gunderson’s I and You, which received critical acclaim.

A Resident Theatre Company
As the performing arts in the U.S. leave the darkness of the pandemic years, two local arts organizations have come together to strike up a partnership: The Electric Company Theatre is now the resident theatre company of the historic Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton. The Electric Company will produce full-length plays, immersive experiences, and an intimate storytelling and concert series, on the grounds and in the beautiful 1920s mansion.
Walter and Adella Muckenthaler built the 18 room mansion in 1925 atop this hill in Fullerton and it served as the center of their citrus and nut farming business, as well as their family home, for more than four decades. We can’t wait to share this gorgeous, multi-faceted facility with our ETC patrons and our fresh, electrifying theatrical experiences with the cultured “Muck” audiences.
