The Electric Company Theatre is a collective of artists dedicated to nurturing our craft through the exploration, development and presentation of classic, contemporary, and original texts, providing a forum for community connection, and creating a  platform for change through the unique experience of live theatre.

Change. Connect. Craft.

  • Our Theatre Company

For the last 20 years, our team has been producing high-quality, award-winning theatrical experiences. We have taken shows Off-Broadway, won awards at International Fringe Festivals, produced shows in conjunction with the California Humanities Project, ran a successful Children’s Theater program, and produced countless well-attended theatrical experiences for people of all ages (over 200 productions in the last 17 years). As the theatre in residence of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center, we have become a destination for intimate theatre in Orange County.

  • A Resident Theatre Company

Walter and Adella Muckenthaler built the 18 room mansion in 1925 atop this hill in Fullerton and it served as the center of their citrus and nut farming business, as well as their family home, for more than four decades. ECT has created site specific experiences focusing on the historic site, from an immersive event celebrating the Centennial of the mansion to an original musical for children about local Fullerton history.

  • Audition Opportunities

Join Electric Company Theatre and be a part of the company for one of our upcoming shows at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center where we are in residency for this upcoming season.

Note that most rehearsals and performances are on weekdays in Fullerton. Actors of all abilities, races/ethnicities, sizes, gender identities and sexualities are encouraged to submit for consideration.

We are looking for multi-disciplinary actors who are willing to be a part of a company production process in a unique setting. Feel free to reach out to us about scheduling a virtual meeting if you’d like to hear more about how we work and you might be involved in our process.
